Chapter 75: Another Mini-Boss in the Rift?

"SELENA, SEND YOUR BEASTS AT HIM, ALEX, INTERCEPT HIM WITH YOUR SCEPTER!"

Stark heard his brother speak, and immediately as he did so, the task of \'avoiding them\' became much more difficult since they knew they wouldn\'t be able to catch up under normal circumstances.

Selena, the nervous black-haired woman put her palms together, and in an instant, shadowy beasts materialized around her, growling and snarling as they leaped towards Stark with menacing intent.

She was a [Beast Tamer] and her sub-class was [Shadow Tamer].

Although there are only ten classes in the world, sub-classes ranged in the thousands if not hundreds of thousands, which was what allowed each individual to be mostly unique.

Alex, the pink-haired girl, on the otherhand, raised her heart scepter high as crackling energy formed around the tip, she was either a succubus or magus, and in both cases it wasn\'t good.

~FWISH~

He crouched to avoid a shadow wolf that jumped toward him, and the beast crashed against a wall, disappearing into a puff of eerie black smoke.

Stark quickly turned his attention to Alex, who was now sending pulses of magical energy in his direction.

"ALEX BEAM!" it was a pink beam with hearts around it, but in contrast to its cute nature, the attack was deadly as it hit the stairs and completely destroyed them, following Stark closely as he needed to zigzag to avoid the laser.

"Use your heart, Jay!" Alex said, looking at Stark\'s brother.

\'So his name is Jay…\' this made Stark realize he didn\'t know his supposed brother\'s name in this world.

"WIELDER HEART," Stark\'s brother summoned his heart in his hands, and just as he remembered, it was a red one with pulsating veins on it.

~FWISH~

"CREATION!" Jay held his heart high just like he did when he created that bridge to pass the canyon, and suddenly, parts of the mountain and stairs began morphing around his heart, transformig into spiky spears.

~THUMB, THUMB, THUMB!~

He could create an endless amount of spears with no cooldown, and he would continuously send them toward Stark, who tried his best to avoid them.

Add the \'Alex Beam\' and several shadow creatures from Stella that were constantly jumping at him, and you have a very disadvantageous chase, where Stark was forced to avoid everything if he didn\'t want to die.

Which was most surprising though was that even his close somehow managed to avoid the attacks, following Stark\'s commands perfectly.

But of course… they couldn\'t forget about something that was very crucial…

It\'s that they were still in a rift area.

And although the level 50 \'The Final Stretch\' area didn\'t have any monsters as the stairs wouldn\'t allow that… it still had a single danger that could cause chaos.

"ROOOOOOARRRRRR~" a giant red bird appeared above them, flying around the mountain and occasionnaly stopping to look at the humans that were climbing its area.

Secret Rifts aren\'t line normal ones at all, they abide by their own rules, and they are much more dangerous than the other ones, which was why they were so sought after by classifiers who seeked fame or thrill.

And this one was no different.

"Perception!" Stark analyzed the bird, it had vibrant, scarlet feathers that glisten in the sunlight with ocassional white motifs, it\'s wingspan was immense, casting a shadow over a large part of the mountain, its beak was sharp and pointed, and its eyes were a piercing yellow.

The flapping of its wings was like thunder, sending vibrations through the air, and when it let out a loud roar, it echoed through the entire valley, maybe even those still at the canyon had heard it?

[Name: Crimson Raptor (ELITE MINI-BOSS)]

[Level: 55]

[HP: 190000]

[Strength: 762]

[Stamina: 826]

[Speed: 2362]

[Defense: 2184]

[Skills: Wing Slash, Feather Storm, Flame Breath (Blast), Claw Swipe, Bone Crush, Bird Vision, Prey of the Raptor, Wind Gust, Babies Summon…]

\'ANOTHER MINI-BOSS?\' this was the only monster of this area, yet it was probably much more deadly than the obsidian golem since they were basically in its territory, falling from the stairs being guaranteed death.

So now, in additions to the three beasts that were following him closely from behind to either kill him or capture him, there was a mini-boss flying around them, ready to strike.

And so, in this hopeless situation where Stark could really death getting closer and closer as his stamina was going down and the attacks not stopping…

He did something to get himself out of this situation… which was facing the mini-boss.

"AURA SMASH!" all his precious fists and spears were being sent toward the people that were chasing him, but this time he changed his approach.

He punched the air in the giant bird\'s direction, sending two fists toward it, and of course, although it had incredible speed, easily avoiding them…

~SWISH~

Stark used the technique he had learned during the Domination trial and switched the fists\' directions, making them go back toward the bird, who didn\'t suspect anything

~BOOM, BOOM~

It was hit twice.

"-15736! -18216!" the damage was decent, but no stun.

And it was fine, since now, Stark could only hope that his plan would work.

The \'Crimson Raptor\' was furious that it had been hit by such a cheap attack, and so it dived toward Stark and his clone, trying to kill them both.

"CLAW SWIPE, WING SLASH," it activated both skills, making both its wings and claws shine.

Stark looked up, seeing the bird now only a few meters above him, still diving to kill him off.

"…" he grinned, \'Bingo.\'

~SLAM~

The bird landed on the stairs on Stark.

But…

"INVINCIBLE DODGE," he dived forward, avoiding both the bird\'s attacks and also continuing to climb upward alongside his clone who also used the skill.

The raptor was so big that it took up the entirety of the stairs, essentially blocking the three classifiers that were chasing after Stark as they couldn\'t do anything: they were forced to get rid of it if they wanted to pass through.

This was Stark\'s plan.

"YOU FUCKKERRRRRR!" Jay shouted as hard as he could, figuring out that Stark had outsmarted them again.

\'I guess using your brain is useful, isn\'t it,\' he grinned, continuing to climb the stairs while the others were stuck with the mini-boss.

"FLAME BREATH," the raptor immediately turned its head toward them and sent a fire blast at the three classifiers, who were forced to go on the offensive to kill it.

And so just like that, Stark was getting closer to his goal.

\'Easy win!\'

Or at least… that\'s what he thought.
