Chapter 252: Zimo and Biyu Battle with the Reapers
Meanwhile, on the Purple Mist Mountain Range, a deadly battle was going on, sending powerful shockwaves everywhere.
All the powerful clans had retreated at their top speed, leaving only two people in the Purple Mist Mountain Range.
They were Biyu and Zimo.
Many people had wondered why people feared those two, and now they would know why. Immediately, when another group from the Reapers arrived and attacked the mountain range, they sprung to action.
Looking at hundreds of powerful Peak Core Refining Experts and a Golden Core realm stage 3, it sent a shiver down the spine of everyone.
Panic and regret crept up in their hearts when they realized the secret realm must have caught the attention of a powerful organization.
But which organization could produce such a terrifying lineup? It was no secret the empire did not have a single Golden Core expert in the prefecture.
The only place a Golden Core Expert could be found was in the Imperial Capital of the Empire. And when was the last time they saw one, a couple of hundred years ago, not until now.
Standing a kilometer away from the battle with other clan masters, Patriarch Jun looked at Matriarch Jiang and asked in a low voice.
"What do you think is going on?"
Matriarch Jiang turned to look at him in disdain before averting her gaze. "How would I know?"
He didn\'t care about the scornful gaze from her and continued. "I think they\'re trying to take over the secret realm. What should we do if they succeed? Our children are still inside."
Even though she didn\'t want to have anything to do with him, she knew it was not the time to continue their rivalry and think of a way to save their children.
"Let\'s just hope those two can somehow hold the ground."
Although the words came out of her mouth, she didn\'t even believe it. How could two early Foundation Building realm stage 2 defeat hundreds of Peak Core Refining experts with a Golden Core expert at their back.
It\'s impossible?!
But what could they do? They couldn\'t possibly throw their life away just in the hope to protect their children.
All the clan masters held their breath with their hearts pounding heavily against their chests. Their helplessness was killing them from the inside out.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
Suddenly, a miserable scream echoed from the distance, sending shivers down the spine of everyone. They sucked in a cold breath and retreated subconsciously.
Ahhhhhhh!
Before the various clan masters could process what was happening, another cry of anguish echoed from the distance once again. This time, the voice was different.
The clan masters looked at each other\'s faces and saw confusion. This was not the voice of those two from the Celestial Heavenly Sect.
"Are you thinking what I\'m thinking?" Patriarch Jun looked at Matriarch Jiang from the corner of his eyes.
"Why should I do that? Get lost or tell me what is on your mind." She responded coldly.
"Are you looking for a beating?" Patriarch Jun shouted in fury. He was only trying to act magnanimously for the safety of their children, but who would have thought this unreasonable woman continued their useless rivalry at this time.
"You can try!" She turned and glared at him, with the air shaking vehemently around her.
Seeing those two at it once again, the other clan masters shook their heads in anger as they averted their gaze, looking into the distance.
Ahhhh!
Another cry of anguish came from the distance once again. Now, a fool could realize the battle was not going according to what they predicted.
Maybe…. Maybe…
They all looked at each other and moved closer to the raging battle happening on the Purple Mist Mountain Range. When they were close enough to see what was happening, their world view shattered.
Tens of the Reapers\' bodies lay lifelessly on the ground, dyed in blood while most of them had lost their heads under a deadly cold blade.
As for those that were fortunately enough to keep their heads, a deep horrifying slash was either on their chest or back, with either losing a leg or hands.
Watching as blood splashed on the mountain floor, all the clan masters felt goosebumps. Their chests rose and fell as they found it difficult to breathe.
In the distance, Biyu was fighting on even ground with the Golden Core experts. Moreover, the Golden Core expert had various cuts on his body already.
As for the Core Refining experts, their fate couldn\'t be worse. Zimo was like a fish in the ocean, with his sword cutting everything in its path.
His and Biyu\'s battling style was vastly different from how Elder Hua fought. They fought with more grace and confidence. Each of their attacks was aimed at the vital spot of their target.
Moreover, they had yet to deploy the full power of their bloodline.
Ahhhh!
One of the Core Refining experts held his neck with both hands. He fell on his knee and blood flowed out of his mouth, and his expression filled with dread.
The hand he used to hold his neck was covered in blood and guttural sounds came from his mouth before his head fell off from his neck.
As for Zimo, he had long forgotten about his target and moved to the next target. No matter what scheme the Core Refining experts deployed, he managed to avoid it and retaliate with more ferocity than before.
"What are you?" The Golden Core Expert shouted with fear evident in his voice.
He had tried every skill and used all the tricks he had in his well of experience but everything was futile against this strange woman.
She was a born warrior, with her twin daggers working wonders in her hands. All the prestige of a Golden Core expert had been lost during this fight.
Various expressions flashed through his face as he tried to cling on to his dear life. But the most prevailing one was confusion and anger.
Whoosh!
Biyu side-stepped his saber attack and twisted mid-air. She lunged her dagger with an extreme speed toward his leg.
Ahhhh!
A miserable scream came from his mouth as the dagger cut deep into his thigh. He stumbled back with his face turning into despair.
He gnashed his teeth, looking at the deep cut on his thigh before looking at her with fury and fear. His pride as a Golden Core expert wanted nothing but to tear this weak ant into pieces but the human in him wanted him to escape for his dear life.
Ahhhhh!
Just as he was trying to get a grip of his emotion, he heard the anguished cry of his men. From the corner of his eyes, he saw two heads in the sky.
"W-What…the…." His heart skipped a beat.
One hundred peak Core Refining experts laid lifelessly on the ground with most of them losing their heads. Standing at the center of this carnage was Zimo, bathed in warm blood.
Suddenly, he saw him staring at him as if he was already dead meat. He shivered and retreated. His body tensed up and all the hair on his body stood up straight.
He knew the odds were no longer in his favor.
"Do you need a hand?" Zimo asked, still fixing his gaze on him.
"I got this," Biyu responded, and the aura around her got stronger.
Pop!
A sound came from her body, and her strength increased. She had broken through to the Peak of Early Foundation Building realm stage 3.
"I see…" A knowing look appeared on Zimo\'s face before flashing her an encouraging smile. "Get it done quickly. You need to assist Elder Hua."
"Leave it to me." She looked at the Golden Core expert with a smile that wasn\'t a smile.
Previously, the Golden Core expert thought the odds were not in his favor, but now, from her smile, he knew the battle was over.
Whoosh!
He heard a whistling sound and knew what was coming for him. Quickly, he reacted to avoid the attack, but it was then he realized the horror of that smile.
That single breakthrough had changed everything. Before, he could defend against her attack and hold his ground, but now, he didn\'t have a chance.
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
A miserable scream escaped from his mouth. His right hand had been chopped off from his body, blood gushing out like a broken dam as he retreated hastily from the demoness.
Previously, he didn\'t have the intention of escaping, but now, that was the only option left for him. Without thinking twice, he turned and escaped for his dear life.
Unfortunately for him, he fled too late.
Perhaps, if he had tried to escape when Biyu had yet to break through to stage 3 of the Foundation Building realm, he might have had a chance to escape, but now…

Whoosh!
He only felt a tingling sensation on his back but didn\'t care about it as he continued to escape. His mind and soul wanted to escape from this nightmare. Alas…
Thud!
His head fell off his neck while his body continued to escape with his top speed. Slowly, his speed reduced to a stop and he fell from the sky.
Till death, he had no idea of how he died.
