Chapter 225: | 225 | TIMESKIP: Part Thirteen - The Man Versus The Dragon
"This has to end now." Abraham muttered under his breath, resolving himself to stop the whims of the dragoness he was about to meet. The massacre of an entire population was something that was difficult for him to accept. They would probably need to have a talk for what had happened.
As he got nearer to the ground, the gargantuan body of the serpentine dragon emerged in the background. It wrapped around a ruined castle burning ablaze the darkest storm. His doubts were confirmed when he saw her.
The dragon was none other than Laplace, his wife. Though, somewhat different than before. Laplace was someone who wouldn\'t haphazardly throw her dominating intent around and has great control over it. The one before he had no control at all, and most importantly was the color of her eyes.
It was radiant gold, glimmering like a luminous gemstone. It was a treasure to behold. The current one in front of him had crimson red, although still beautiful like a ruby, it was cold. It lacked the warmth that his wife provided.
If there was a description he could use towards the current Laplace. It was like seeing the God of Destruction. There was no sign of the Dragon of Liberation.
Abraham soon reached ground level and made his landing with his feet. It was clean one as the ground didn\'t crack upon his arrival, which was something he was getting used to. A good and slick landing was always better than a destructive one.
"But damn... It looks like I haven\'t exercise my body enough." He remarked while shaking his arms and legs. It has been a while since he had gotten a move out of this body of his. Spending most of his time at the Citadel didn\'t do good for him, but it wasn\'t enough to be detrimental.
Abraham straightened his body as the dragon had its gaze pointed at him. Its crimson slitted eyes narrowed as it began moving, slithering like a snake. However, he did notice a peculiar behavior from it. The dragon kept itself wrapped around the castle.
Walking towards the dragon, he cracked his fingers as he uttered at the repti- Ehem, his wife. "You have done a bad job at keeping this place, my Love. I don\'t remember you being the troublesome typ-."
"Oh, wait... I mean, I don\'t remember you being the type who loves fire and wrecking things up." He shook his head as his words were becoming incomprehensible even to him.
At any rate, Abraham got closer to the serpentine dragon who opened its jaw and quickly released a crimson blast. It surged onward towards him as he could only sigh to himself. The blast quickly enveloped his body, though in actuality, Abraham stood beside it unaffected.
"You have to do more than that if you want to take care of your husband, my Love." He smirked while he clenched his fist and leaped towards the serpentine dragon. He arrived before in an instant and was about to strike its head with his fist.
However, its body abruptly moved, swatting him away like a fly. Abraham was thrown away into the burning capital city, an explosion resounding upon his crash landing.
*BOOM!!!*
Black smoke and dust enveloped his surroundings as he dusted off his clothing. The runes engraved on it weren\'t lasting long, so if he wasn\'t careful. He would have to fight his wife later. Though, it\'s not like it was something new to him.
"Though... You hit hard! Do you not treat me with care anymore?" He remarked, shaking his head in disappoint. Getting swatted from the sky while performing a punch wasn\'t something he was delighted to experience.
*BAM!*
Another blast enveloped his landing spot, but he already dodged away, sprinting towards the serpentine dragon at full speed. \'Not even a tinge of patience, huh?\'
\'I guess you really are my wife!\' Abraham appeared beside it and immediately threw a punch. His fist landed as the dragon\'s head was blown to the side, though it merely growled in annoyance. It opened its jaw, releasing another beam of destruction.
"You\'re really hard to deal with." He muttered to himself, barely dodging another beam. Although, it wouldn\'t instantly kill him. It might burn his skin and most importantly, destroy his clothing. Fighting amidst a hellscape wasn\'t something he was interested in.
The serpentine dragon of destruction was aggravated by the fly that kept bothering it. This bastard was a lot different than the insects it had destroyed before. For some reason, it felt a bit of hesitance. There was also the endurance of the fly and its speed.
It understood that there was more to be done if it wanted to take care of the insect. With this in mind, the serpentine dragon unwrapped its body and slithered into the black-painted heavens. Thunderous lightning rumbled beside it as it glared at Abraham, who stood below it.

"It looks like she\'s getting serious." Abraham knew that it wasn\'t the time to be playing around. His wife could punch a pack, and if he wasn\'t cautious, he might die with his body burning to crisped. Even with his unnatural resistance of the natural, his wife was a skilled manipulator of magicraft.
He clenched his fist and narrowed his gaze at the serpentine dragon. He could jump at the dragon once again to punch it, however, using the same strategy over and over again was insanity.
\'External Release...\' Abraham pulled his fist and suddenly threw it forward. It was as though he was punching the air, but in reality, the air was blasting at what he wanted to hit. As if following his rhythmed, both the heavens and the earth surged onward, barreling towards the soaring dragon.
The serpentine dragon opened its jaw, conjuring another blast of destruction. It didn\'t fear anything below it. Its arrogance paramount to everything above. It stood as the highest of all what nature could create. The apex sapience of the world. Its heaven.
It wasn\'t wrong to say the least.
But in the world of the unnatural, the heaven and the earth can sometimes flipped in the whims of those that will it.
As the burst of air surged into the skies while a beam of destruction blasted into the earth, their impact brought about a fusion of energy that awakened the radiance of creation. A shockwave took shape, so strong that it opened up the previously darkened skies consumed by an unending storm.
The rays of sunlight returned, piercing downward. The blue skies emerged, signifying the end of the devastation that enraptured the land below. It was a beautiful sight. Though, a gargantuan serpentine dragon still loomed over the sinking island.
Wrath consumed its crimson eyes, angered by the fact that a mere insect dared to douse the destruction it had brought upon to its land. However, it had forgotten the fact that the mere insect was far from gone.
Above it, Abraham gently fell and threw a soft punch to its body, It wasn\'t extremely fast, nor was it very strong. It didn\'t even cause a disturbance in its surroundings. However, the serpentine dragon felt a force that pulled it to the earth.
The gargantuan predator couldn\'t resist and was flung to the capital city of the fallen kingdom. It crashed with a manganous explosion, resounding all throughout.
*BOOM!!!* Waves of smoke and dust consumed the devasted capital city as Abraham landed on the ruined landscape of what was supposed to be a sizeable settlement of creatures. It was all destroyed, barely a trace of its past.
"I hope you wake up, Laplace. I know you can. But I need you now." Abraham uttered amidst the debris covered terrain. The massive silhouette of the serpentine dragon soon faded, becoming smaller by the moment.
Hope returned to Abraham\'s eyes since Laplace had finally returned back. It seemed to him that there was no need for more violence. After all, no one would want to be fighting to the death with their lovers. Besides, he might actually die if the clash continued.
The only reason why he was alive was the simple fact that the dragon wasn\'t taking him seriously at all. A fly might buzz around your body, annoying you. But you wouldn\'t use a bomb to kill it.
However, unfortunately for him, things were far from over.
As the dust and smoke faded into the background, dissipating through time, a gorgeous figure walked out of it with silver hair ruffling from the windy landscape. Abraham had a smile, at first, thinking that it was his wife returning to him, though looking at her irises...
It was scarlet-crimson.
The beautiful lady, who was Laplace, calmly sauntered towards him with a smirk plastered on her face. It didn\'t take long for her to stand in front of him, but he remained frozen unable to move. It was not like he didn\'t want to move, but more like he couldn\'t.
\'A spell?\' Abraham raised his eyebrows as the dragoness touched his chin, maintaining her arrogant smirk. "I was wondering why the hesitance of this body of mine. It looks like you\'re him, huh? Abraham Shepherd, the one that captured my heart."
"Interesting..."
