Chapter 827: Silly Husky

No one would expect a Great Mage to murder his own servant, especially one that came from Dalaran the Magic City.

From the Worgen’s description, Lu Li could tell there was something that he wanted to avoid talking about. Lu Li suspected that he was most likely about to die from an illness or had suffered a serious injury.

The Great Mage Ur needed a soul and so naturally, he chose his beloved servant.

Sosa Modnaire - that was the Worgen’s name when he was still a mercenary. His soul was transported to a Worgen’s body by Ur’s dark magic.

He wasn’t a simple Worgen like the others; he was a creation of Ur’s hard work and dedication to his passion.

Sosa Modnaire was sealed away in the book by a curse. Even the second owner of the Book of Ur did not even know about this. Arugal, in fear of the book being stolen, hid it away in Shadowfang Keep.

In terms of how this relates to the game, only monsters from Shadowfang Keep had a chance of dropping the Book of Ur.

However, the chance of it dropping was extremely low.

Lu Li was lucky because the Book of Ur that he had obtained was the same one used to seal away Sosa Modnaire. The Worgen he had summoned was the poor mercenary that had been locked away in the book for years.

He had been locked away for so long that he had no idea what had become of his master.

"I can set you free," Lu Li offered.

Though not many would agree, Lu Li always saw himself as a moral person. He would feel too uncomfortable ordering a male servant around.

"You’re setting me free?" the Worgen asked as he stood up suddenly, but his face was full of rage. "How can you set me free?"

"That’s right – you can live however you desire."

Lu Li expected for him to thank him in gratitude, but the Worgen did not seem like he was pleased.

"Look at how I am now. What kind of a life do you think I would be living, besides..." the Worgen began, then almost burst out in tears and sighed, "I can only stay out for a short while."

Lu Li was reminded of the effects of The Book of Ur: "Summon a Worgen, 5-minute duration. Cooldown 24 hours."

"Then, I can’t save you," Lu Li said in regret.

He did not empathize with the Worgen very much since he was an NPC, and besides, he was a little blunt with his words. If it were anyone else that had treated him so rudely, Lu Li would have destroyed them.

"Just let me out occasionally and if you level it up, I can stay out for a bit longer," the Worgen said.

"I can let you out, but it’ll be like situations like today. Since you’re a summoned monster, you don’t face the danger of dying like me."

In simple terms, he would be a punching bag!

The Worgen was angry when he heard this but there was nothing he could do.

"Also, the next time you swear or be rude to me, I won’t let you out for an entire month," Lu Li threatened. Having a stranger swear at him was one of his pet peeves that he could not accept. If it were Azure Sea Breeze that had insulted him, he would have been fine with it.

"I... I..." the Worgen stuttered, then dipped his head down in shame and said, "I agree completely."

"Another thing – your name is too long and difficult to say. I’ll change your name to Silly Husky," Lu Li said with a serious expression.

"What does Silly Husky mean? It sounds pretty nice." He was completely oblivious.

The Worgen was nothing more than a series of code put together by the game developers. Although they had instilled in him a lot of human traits and past experiences, he was still far from a real human. He couldn’t understand how evil Lu Li was and naively accepted his new name.

"Silly Husky means to be a Hero. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t trick you," Lu Li assured as he patted him on the head and watched as he disappeared.

The five-minute duration was up.

Obtaining a Worgen subordinate was completely unexpected, but Lu Li was rather indifferent to it.

Silly Husky wasn’t a very powerful summon and had a short duration; the only thing he was good for was being a meat shield.

Although he was intelligent, this wouldn’t be very useful in a practical sense.

Since the Worgen was summoned with the Book of Ur, he would have to obey Lu Li’s order, so it didn’t matter whether he was intelligent or not.

Lu Li brought the Painting of Love and Family with him and left Stratholme.

Soon, he would return to this place with his teammates to defeat all the Bosses in the Instance Dungeon.

"Look, I brought the painting you wanted," Lu Li said as he took it out from his backpack and gave it to Tirion Fordring. The old Knight looked nervous.

"Thank you, Elf," Tirion said as he placed the painting on his knees and slowly spread it out.

Lu Li didn’t have the chance to look at the painting for himself because he was so focused on obtaining it.

He handed the painting over to Tirion and looked at it closely.

It was a very simple portrait, without any complicated artistic techniques. However, there was an unexplainable warmness that could be felt from the family depicted.

A family of three – a man, a woman and their son.

During this time, he wasn’t the founder of the Knights Legion, nor was he the leader of Hearthglen. He was simply a husband and a father that brought happiness and peace to his family.

His expression was kind and loving as he held both his wife and son’s hands firmly.

Tirion Fordring sighed and looked his hand. The hands that once played with his son on the island were still as strong as ever, but they had lost their warmth over the years.

"If your son was to see this painting, would he believe me?" Lu Li asked.

"Yes, for sure. I believe the good times we’ve had wouldn’t be replaced by anything," Fordring nodded.

"Let’s hope so. I’ll head towards Hearthglen then," Lu Li sighed in relief.

There were others that were less fortunate than him and had to collect more items to prove themselves.

"Wait," Fordring stopped Lu Li and said, "You can hand over the items you’ve collected to Tyran, but he and his Scarlet Crusade will attack you immediately when they see you."
